Aircraft Entry Into Service
Overview
When a new or used aircraft is added to a CAMO-managed fleet, a structured induction process is required to ensure all continuing airworthiness requirements are met. This process is often referred to as aircraft induction or entry into service.
This document outlines the typical steps taken by a CAMO Technical Administrator during aircraft induction.
1. Collect and Verify Aircraft Records
- Delivery documentation (ARC, Certificate of Airworthiness)
- Aircraft Technical Logbook (techlog)
- Equipment List / Configuration
- SB/AD/Modification status
- Previous maintenance records (task cards, shop reports)
2. Load Data Into Maintenance System
- Create aircraft profile (MSN, registration, engine/APU serials)
- Enter AMP tasks and forecasts
- Upload scanned documents if applicable
3. Perform Physical Inspection
- Confirm aircraft configuration matches documentation
- Check placards, interior layout, equipment status
- Raise findings (if any) and close with corrective actions
4. Review Maintenance Status
- Evaluate last performed maintenance check
- Calculate next due items (tasks, ADs, components)
- Align with AMP and planning forecasts

6. Final Airworthiness Sign-Off
